Corncob 3D is a 3D flight simulator and is based on the Pie in the Sky game engine. The game is based in world where Hitler never made it pass childhood and because of that World War 2 never happened.
This game is the only flight simulator that has been released as shareware and it is pretty decent for what you can do in the game.
However instead of World War 2 aliens decided to invade earth so it is up to you to take control of a F4U Corsair and defeat the invaders.
Corncob 3D Gameplay
In the game you will be flying your plane and shoot down the alien invaders. The game has a few introductory or tutorial missions so you can become adjusted to the game. I suggest you do them because the controls can take some getting us to. There is also quite a few factors you will need to consider when you’re flying such as stalling, flying too low and several other things. Such as controlling the throttle so you can keep control of your plane.
The game play in the game is decent and was relatively popular back when it was first released. The game does feature some in depth flight simulator things. There is also quite a bit to do in the game so you won’t find yourself with nothing to do. You have the typical fighter weapon options don’t expect anything too high tech.
Overall Corncob 3d is a pretty decent game the graphics are pretty primitive so don’t be expecting anything too great when you play the game. It still however has graphics decent enough to look at without being completely unimpressed. The flight in the game is nice and fluid and the controls once you have gotten use to them are pretty good and make sense.
