By Software Visions (1996)
Labyrinth of Zeux is a game that was released way before the Megazeux gam creation system was released. The Megazeux came bundled with several games such as Caverns of Zeux which is the sequel to this game and it also contained about 3 more other Zeux games.
This game is a side scroller and you will find yourself enjoying the game if you like those kinds of games. It has several gameplay elements to it what you can read below and find out more on the game.
Labyrinth of Zeux Gameplay
In the game you’re Vince M. Louis a famous theologist that has studied every mystical and religious item ever mentioned in legend except for the magical staff of Zeux.
The game is side scrolling ASCII-style game that has edited characters. The controls in the game are a bit of a hit and miss and can lead to confusion when trying to press the right keys. The game includes some text-mode animation and has a large variety of objects.
You’re also able to pick up and use items throughout the game these include stuff such as gems, gold, bombs, keys and a few more items. If you don’t use these items and still have them at the end of a level you will be awarded with bonus points.
There is a fair few enemies in the game each their own unique attack you will need to watch out for. These help add to the game and offer a challenge at certain parts of the game.
There are a fair few levels in the game that you can play though and also a level editor that is included but it can unfortunately be a difficult to use and somewhat limited.
This game can be quite unstable on earlier versions of DOSbox so it is important that you get the latest version to ensure that you get the best experience out of the game.
